Barrisol makes another front cover appearance

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd is proud to announce that a superb Barrisol installation has been featured on the front cover of British Builder and Developer magazine in their May 2008 issue.

The project showcases a series of curved floating frames in a Matt White Barrisol finish.

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd strikes Gold with the Haymarket Hotel

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd won the prestigious Gold award at the 2008 AIS Contractors Awards, held at The Dorchester, for our stunning installation at the Haymarket Hotel Swimming Pool project. The Judges commented - “This project has to be seen to be believed. A gentle barrel vaulted ceiling surrounded by very crisp bulkheads – absolutely fabulous".

Senior Sales Executive Chris Bavin accepted the award from David Jones, President of Association of Interior Specialists, Jack Pringle of Pringle Brandon Architects who enforced a message of “rewarding the best to encourage the rest” and also present was Peter French of Peter French Architects who was the lead Architect for the Haymarket Hotel, London.

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd just missed out on another award for the 02 Dome installation which the Judges thought was worthy of mention – “Another outstanding entry, which only lost out because of the exceptional competition”.

The latest award continues our run of success of AIS Gold awards after the wins in 2006 with the Medway University and 2007 with the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Charlotte Hits 30!

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd Sales Co-ordinator Charlotte Sandford celebrated her 30th birthday on the 19th June 2008. Happy Birthday Charlotte, many happy returns!!

Factory Tour a Hit

December 2007 saw the first specifier's tour to the Barrisol main factory based in Kembs. Sales Director Steve Savage and Senior Sales Executive Chris Bavin accompanied 5 Architects from leading architectural and design practices with the aim of giving a further insight into the world of Barrisol stretch ceilings and also to indulge in the well known French hospitality!

This was an exciting opportunity for Barrisol to provide a more detailed insight into the potential of the system whilst also providing confidence in not just the product but also the Barrisol Family Company and Worldwide Network.

Simon Forrester Chief Executive of AIS also accompanied the party to promote awareness and reinforce the importance of the Association of Interior Specialists within the construction industry. Richard Mazuch from respected Nightingale Associates commented on his experience of a trip: "An engaging, thought provoking and enjoyable trip."

The factory visit also included an RIBA approved CPD presentation, a presentation from Barrisol's acoustic technician and an in depth look in to the manufacturing prototype and production process of the Barrisol material along with an insight into the qualification/training process distributors undergo to become an approved Barrisol Installer.

RIBA Approved CPD presentation performed at Surface

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd delivered their RIBA Approved CPD presentation at the Surface Design Show at the BDC in Islington. The exhibition and the CPD presented Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd with the perfect opportunity to showcase their new perforated and 100% recycled ranges.

The CPD was performed by Sales Executive Jamie Morris and was well received by all who attended.

Barrisol Surfaces Seduce FX

A Barrisol project has been featured on the front cover of FX Magazines February 2008 issue. Please click the link below, which shows the Barrisol in waved ribbon panels in a Hotel bar application with colour change LED’s back lighting the material. This produces a stunning wall to ceiling feature and creates a dramatic effect. The Translucent finish was chosen as it offers up to approximately 75% light transmission, whilst also being a high performance diffuser.

FX Magazine are focusing on the Surface Design Show at the BDC in Islington, London from 4th March to 6th March 2008 which Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd will be exhibiting on Stand 340, we will also be taking this opportunity to showcase the new perforated acoustic and 100% recycled materials.

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd was proud to be the main sponsor for the 2008 SPATA Design Awards (Swimming Pool and Allied Trade Association).  The black tie evening was held at The Grand Hotel in Brighton and proved to be a huge success with more entrants than ever entering into the awards.

Barrisol has been trading for 40 years and Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd have been affiliated to SPATA for many years so felt this was the perfect way to mark the event.

Ongoing Vetting (OGV) is a continuous vetting process of AIS members to raise, maintain and ensure continuity of standards for the mutual benefit of members and their clients ensuring that excellent service and results are provided.

Stretch Ceilings (UK) Ltd has recently passed our AIS Ongoing Vetting (OGV), there are different criteria which must be met in order to pass. These being Supply trade references, Prove financial viability, Inspection of work, Submit accident stats, Meet legal obligations and abide by AIS Code of Conduct.
