Barrisol is the trade name of the original and world’s no. 1 stretch ceiling system. The product was developed over 40 years ago by Mr Fernand Scherrer and is manufactured at two factories by Normalu SA in France, employing over 150 staff in France, supplying demand for this unique product through a network of 1000+ dealers in almost 100 countries.

What is a stretch ceiling system?

Barrisol is a suspended ceiling system consisting of two basic components - a perimeter track and lightweight fabric membrane which stretches and clips into the track. In addition to ceilings the system can be used for wall coverings, light diffusers, floating panels, exhibitions and creative shapes. Barrisol allows the incorporation of all types of light fixtures, grilles and fixing points by the use of a proprietary background support.

Fabric

Our fabric material is a unique 0.2mm thick titanium based fully recyclable vinyl. The material comes in over 250 colours and finishes including Matt, Satin, Lacquer (mirror like), Metallic, Suede, Perforated, and Translucent for lighting diffusers, backlighting & projection. The material can be printed or painted for additional effects, is entirely waterproof, washable, impermeable to vapour and has a certified class 'O' spread of flame (UK regulations), certificate number J87028/7. Barrisol is also approved to the new European Classification of EN13501-1 Rating: B,S2,d0. The lightweight sheets are purpose made from roll material to form any shape and size typically up to 60 square metres in one piece. Each panel incorporates an ultrasonically welded 'Harpoon Edge' which clips into the track.

Track

Two types of track are available - the 'CLASSIC' system which is available in PVC or Aluminium and the patented 'STAR' system in anodised Aluminium. The Star track is a semi-concealed system which is the preferred choice for architects and designers, enabling curves, domes, vaults and many other shapes to be formed with ease.
